Determination of Protein Oxidation in Aquaculture Feed

The aim of this research was to develop reliable, easy-to-perform and cheap method for measuring protein oxidation in complex samples such as aquaculture feed within various sources. For that purpose modified 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazyne (DNPH)-based quantification carbonyls employed, while the modification consisted using different solutions extraction, time extraction concentration trichloracetic acid (TCA) precipitation. It found during night, higher TCA use 0.5 M KCl solution resulted highest amount measured by Lowry 280 nm estimation. On other hand, lowest yield obtained distillated water extraction. Furthermore, case when performed with distilled (DW), content were reached 0.15 solutions. observed compounds increasing storage under accelerated conditions, comparison original (unmodified) method, all points storage.
